Samvedana Gaushala, Budhgaon – A Devoted Initiative for Cow Protection and Care

Samvedana Gaushala, Budhgaon, managed by Samvedana Foundation, Sangli, has been devotedly working for cow protection and welfare for the past seven years. Situated on a two-acre campus along the Kupwad–Budhgaon Road in Sangli, the Gaushala is currently home to 55 cows that are being nurtured and cared for with utmost dedication.

To ensure proper service and maintenance of the cows, experienced caretakers have been appointed. They meticulously manage daily routines including feeding, cleanliness, and regular health check-ups. In case of illness or medical emergencies, expert veterinary doctors are made available immediately.

Inspired by the motto “Serving the Cow is Serving the Divine,” the Gaushala’s primary mission is cow protection and public awareness. Rescuing, treating, and rehabilitating abandoned, injured, and sick cows is a vital part of this initiative.

The organization also promotes cow-based products, both nutritious and eco-friendly. Along with traditional dairy products such as ghee, Sanvedana Gaushala produces sustainable items like Gaukashta (cow dung wood), natural incense sticks, clay lamps, and other bio-products. These efforts not only support a sustainable rural economy but also highlight the environmental and health benefits of cow-based resources.

Furthermore, the Gaushala actively organizes various social and religious events to spread awareness about cow protection and conservation. With greater community participation, the organization aims to expand its impact and effectiveness.
